3 April 2008- EU's cotton T-shirt imports remained very strong in volume terms in 2007, as a rise in the euro allowed significantly cutting prices. Shipments from China sharply rebounded while Bangladesh took advantage of a strong increase in volume sales at the lower end of the market. Turkey maintained its position with higher-priced products while India suffered from its direct competition against China, as reflected by our statistical analysis of averaged import prices by origins and destinations. |
